When foreign investors (i.e. Offshore Foreign Corporate Investors/ Offshore Foreign Natural Persons/ Mainland Area Investors) plan to invest in securities listed on the TWSE or OTC in Taiwan, they are required by law to appoint a domestic authorized agent to open accounts, exercise certain rights and handle foreign exchange. In addition, foreign investors are required to appoint a custodian bank to handle custodianship of funds and certificates related to securities investments, confirmation of trades, transaction settlement, and reporting of relevant information. The trust division provides all these services.
